Our Gold Vermeil is made from a Sterling Silver base with 2.5 microns of 18 k Gold plated on top making it hypoallergenic and durable. We chose Gold Vermeil over typical "gold plating" because we want your money to go further, for the pieces you receive to be cherished for years ahead and in line with our sustainability principles, to minimise waste. We have added an additional coating to our pieces to ensure durability so you can expect to confidently wear your Gold Vermeil pieces by Anja Jewellery for 2 years every day before seeing any signs of tarnish. All of our Gold Vermeil jewellery is hallmarked with the '925' mark to indicate the sterling silver purity.

At Anja Jewellery, our beautiful silver jewellery is always crafted in 925 Sterling Silver. The figure ‘925’ refers to the percentage of pure silver in your jewellery piece – 92.5%. Sterling silver jewellery is real and precious, and it’s made by creating an alloy out of pure silver (also known as fine silver) and 7.5% copper. The addition of copper makes the silver harder and more durable, making it suitable for use in jewellery. You may be wondering what do different gold karats mean and which is the right one for you... Karats relate to the purity of the gold in your jewellery, with a higher number indicating higher purity (24k gold is pure gold, 14k gold is 58.3% pure gold, with the rest being alloys such as silver, nickel and copper.) At Anja Jewellery, we have chosen to work with 14k Gold due to its damage resistance, whilst also having the shine and lustre you'd expect from gold jewellery without breaking the bank. In line with our sustainability principles, we are proud to be using 100% recycled solid gold.
