Your questions answered!
Gold Vermeil (pronounced ‘ver-may’) in simplest terms, is sterling silver jewellery which has has a thicker layer of gold added. The thickness of the gold must be a minimum of 2.5 microns to be classed as Gold Vermeil. Gold vermeil is plated with a process known as ‘electrolysis’, making the jewellery highly durable and we have added an additional coating to our pieces to ensure durability.
You can expect to confidently wear your Gold Vermeil pieces by Anja Jewellery for 2 years every day before seeing any signs of tarnish. While gold vermeil jewellery is more resilient than gold plated pieces, and therefore more water repellant, we wouldn't advise exposing your pieces to water for prolonged periods as it can accelerate tarnishing and affect the gold layer.
All of our Gold Vermeil jewellery is hallmarked with the '925' mark to indicate the sterling silver purity.
Our diamond suppliers guarantee that our diamonds are compliant with the Kimberley Process and are conflict-free. We do not use diamonds from Russian mines or blood diamonds.
Learn more about the Kimberley Process at WWW.KIMBERLEYPROCESS.COM.
